Cove Ceramics
Inspired by Tomales Bay, Caitlin Sullivan fuses earth and sea to create hand-built, hand-painted pottery. The rich warmth of the red and black clays radiate through her cool, clean glazing. Caitlin plays with the beauty of imperfection, with signature forms and brush strokes, to make each work an authentic and unique piece of pottery.
Maiolica Pottery
Traditional low-fire and rose color of the terra cotta clay complement the Maiolica style glazing. Originally brought to Italy by way of Moorish Spain from the island of Majorca, Maiolica glazing uses light, sheer painting on top of a white, opaque wash. Caitlin trained in the watercolor Maiolica technique under well-known Point Reyes Station, CA artist Laurie Curtis. All of the stains are non-toxic and lead-free.
